Engine Update & Spawning in Vehicles

New features:

  • Play Seelow as Allies
  • You can spawn inside a vehicle
  • Updated to Unreal Engine 5.5 so the game gets all the new optimizations and features
  • Bots can now climb into and out of trenches thanks to the new NavLinkGenerator in Unreal Engine 5.5

Improvements:

  • Squad reinforcements are now selected after being called in
  • Minimap now zooms out a bit when in vehicle. This fits better to higher vehicle speed and further gun range compared to soldiers.
  • Skirmish game now only starts when player selects a team.
  • Global random artillery now reacts to control point changes and is spread out more

Optimizations:

  • Now using heads and hands from new optimized Unreal Metahumans from Unreal Engine 5.5

Bugfixes:

  • It was possible to give vehicle passengers orders leading to bugs. Now the only order they can receive is dismount.
  • Fixed crash related to bots leaving burning vehicle
  • Fixed crash related to tracing visibility for enemy
  • Vehicles couldn't be commanded to move when attacking enemies
  • Fixed using binoculars while in vehicle
  • Removed speed of sound delay for now as it often causes crashes

Known Issues:

  • DLSS and FSR don't work yet since the plugins are not yet available for Unreal Engine 5.5
  • Trees on Seelow have no collision
