Damage & Penetration Mechanics + New German Uniform
In reality, pistol-caliber bullets from SMGs lose energy and stopping power over distance. To reflect this, damage curves have been introduced. Now, damage is calculated based on distance, reducing SMG effectiveness at longer ranges. The StG-44, using an intermediate cartridge, also has a damage curve, sitting between SMGs and full-power rifles. Full-power rifles remain lethal at any range, delivering one-shot kills to the torso.
Tank shells lose penetration power over distance, simulating real-life ballistics. This affects both armor penetration and material penetration in the game. The vehicle tutorial has been updated with new stations to demonstrate these mechanics.

- Added damage curves for SMG and assault rifles
- Added armor piercing curves for tanks and AT-guns so they pierce less armor at further distances.
- Made bullet material penetration decrease with distance the bullet traveled.
- Added new stations to vehicle tutorial explaining armor penetration.
- Added new German uniform and helmet.
- Uniform can now be chosen in the loadout.
- Added building as spectator if near friendly soldiers or friendly control points
- Added commanding in spectator mode
- Bots now deploy undeployed guns when ordered to mount them or when a "crew" bot is built next to an undeployed gun.
Improvements:
- Added a button for selecting squad/platoon/deselect
- Added mortars to tutorial map
- Added radios to MountainVillages for calling in mortar strikes
- When trying to build in an invalid location the build preview is now shown in red
- Adjusted botskill tooltip
- Stationary MGs don't need to be deployed after building anymore
- Now using Unreal's mutable plugin for soldier uniforms
- Updated to Unreal 5.5.2
Bugfixes:
- Fixed mortar ranging
- Fixed crash related to stopping building
Optimizations:
- Optimized AI by doing expensive distance calculations less often
- Soldier meshes are now only updated when they are visible
Known issues:
- The new Unreal mutable plugin doesn't work with a packaged editor, so making a public SDK won't be possible until that is fixed
