New Rally Point System and Skirmish Mode!


Now squad leaders can place rally points just by pressing 'J'. There are some rules regarding the placing of rally points. They can't be placed too close to control points or to other rally points and there is a cooldown of 1 minute. But don't worry there's now a hint showing all this info on the right side of the HUD.



Additionally there is a brand new simplified skirmish mode with a random map for testing. It's still very early in development and more features are still to come. For the first time you can now set the time of day and the weather for the random map. 


There has also been a lot of optimization. Dead soldiers and destroyed vehicles are now reset and reused by the game. This should reduce hitches during the game caused by spawning a lot of new soldiers and vehicles. It might lead to bugs if the old soldier or vehicles isn't cleaned up properly, so let me know if you notice anything!

Improvements:

  • Added FSR4 support
  • Some vehicles can act as spawns. If the vehicle is moving and there is a free seat you will now spawn inside.

Bugfixes

  • Fix crash related to bot melee attack when bot has no weapon equipped
  • Inventory changes to vehicles in battle do not save
  • When the tank faces combat, the commander bails with the mounted troops.
  • When pushing towed ordinance or a car, the enemy does not target you
  • Mortar does not appear in the shop menu like a mounted machine gun does.
  • Bots clumped up in certain points
  • Fixed issues with tutorial maps

  • Fixed no ammo icon showing on soldiers which unmounted from a vehicle

Optimization:

  • Spectator now doesn't generate nav mesh when moving fast with 'shift'. Nav mesh is needed for commanding bots to cover.
  • Effects are now pooled and their number is limited for better performance
  • Spawn menu map was still updated even when it was not visible anymore
  • Optimized ballistics to use less line traces
  • Prevent unnecessary NavMesh regeneration due to VoxelWorld visibility collision
  • Dead soldiers and destroyed vehicles are now pooled and reused instead of being destroyed and recreated. This should improve performance and reduce hitches
