WW2 FPS Version 0.0.8
There's a new version of WW2 FPS available with some new features and important optimizations. Try it out and let me know what you think!
If you tried WW2 FPS before and are experiencing issues with the new version please delete "C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\WW2FPS\Saved".
Note: FSR isn't working because the Plugin for Unreal 5.3 has not been released yet.
Changes:
- Start game menu: It's now possible to adjust the amount of credits received and the amount of bots spawned per wave
- Added SdKfz 251 as buildable vehicle
- Updated to Unreal Engine 5.3
- Optimization: Turn off collision for skeletal mesh (animated soldier model) when it is not in view. Use capsule component in that case. See https://desertfoxdev.itch.io/ww2fps/devlog/617307/optimizing-for-many-soldiers
- Optimization: Only update skeletal mesh (animated soldier model) when it is in view
- Optimization: Reduced texture sizes for texture streaming
- Tutorial maps now refer to Skirmish Mode instead of Horde Mode
- Improve fading out of grass in the distance
- Fixed setting controls to default affected other settings as well
- Fixed issues with leg positions in prone
- Fixed getting stuck while vaulting
- Fixed view wouldn't zoom out again when changing weapon while aiming
- Fixed bots didn't elevate cannons correclty
