Roadmap


This is just a general roadmap of possible content and features that might be added to the game. Nothing is set in stone yet and a lot may change as the game develops.

Short term:

  • Optimizing
  • Bug fixing
  • Improving Bots: behaviors, commanding, squad system, formations
  • Additional maps
  • Improving Skirmish game mode

Medium term (Version 0.1):

  • Weapons: Panzerschreck, MG-42, PPS, G-43 with scope
  • Half-tracks: M3
  • Guns: ZIS-3
  • Tank Destroyers: SU-76, StuG III
  • Sound rework. Popping/cracking distant shot sounds. Cracking/whizzing bullet flyby sounds.
  • City map with combat in buildings

Long term:

  • Meta game (unlocks/campaign)
  • Special environments:
    • Water maps with boats and amphibious vehicles like Schwimmwagen.
    • Winter maps with new winter uniforms.
    • Rainy and muddy maps where vehicles might get stuck.
  • Heavy Tanks: IS-2, Panther, Tiger
  • Horses
  • Modding support
  • Put the game on steam when it's good enough

Very long term:

  • More factions and time periods. Currently the game is late war 1944/45 eastern front only which allows us to focus on a limited number of weapons and vehicles.
    • Early war 1941-43 eastern front: light tanks, armored cars, AT-Rifles

Not planned:

  • Controllable planes. This would add a huge amount of work if we want simulation quality planes to match the realism of the rest of the game. Also the maps would need to be huge and everything optimized for flight simulator view distances. What we might have is planes added as a cosmetic effect or callable airstrikes or something like that.
  • Competitive PvP. There are already a lot of very good WW2 PvP games out there and most of them are dead. Also this would require a lot of work to prevent cheating. It would need dedicated servers which would cost money and time for administration.
