Garrison and Reinforcements!


Skirmish mode is getting a major rework. The new Reinforcements feature allows you to call in friendly squad mates which will follow you. Additionally you can call in friendly squads which go attacking on their own. The units will spawn at the nearest friendly spawning point. This replaces the old "building" of soldiers where they appeared out of thin air.

The Garrison feature will slowly fill up a captured control point with friendlies. Same goes for enemy control points. This should result in more action and less defending work.

This WW2FPS release is for testing and gathering feedback on these features. Currently the features are only implemented on the S_MountainVillages_Axis map. So other maps were removed for now. When the features are working well the other maps will be added back in future releases.

New features:

Improvements:

  • Difficulty no longer affects the duration of enemy waves. That should allow more action on easy difficulty.
  • Players receive 1 CP per kill. Team kills result in -1 CP and -1 kill.
  • Weapon blur is now constant and doesn't change with aspect ratio of window
  • Moved bot command icon down and decreased opacity when aiming
  • Allow users to change the deselect bots key

Bug fixes:

  • Fixed navigation calculations which were causing spikes
